Danube Day 2018 / 2019 in Montenegro

Planning is underway for Danube Day 2019. Details will be posted here in June. Read on for a summary of activities in 2018.

Montenegro rejoined the celebrations in 2018, with a festival at the breathtakingly beautiful Crno jezero in Durmitor National Park, near Zabljak. With boating on the lake, orienteering games, organic food and children's woodland art and eco workshops, the day inspired, informed and entertained! The event was organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Zabljak Tourist Organization.

The festival also incorporated the Montenegrin round of the Danube Art Master schools competition. The annual 14-country art extravaganza tasks children to create 3D artworks made from found riverside materials or videos presenting ideas for sharing and protecting our rivers. Winners go on to the international Danube Art Master final later in the year.
